Calgon Carbon Division
Our Calgon Carbon Division hauls carbon for one of the world’s largest producers of carbon, Calgon. This division is permitted to operate in all 48 states of the continental US and Canada.
Our Calgon Carbon terminals are located in Kenova, West Virginia, Neville Island, Pennsylvania and Galena Park, Texas. Drivers based in Kenova primarily haul to the Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, Southeast and Canada. Drivers based in Neville Island primarily haul to the Northeast, Southeast and Canada. Drivers in Galena Park, Texas haul locally, to the Southeast and into Catlettsburg, Kentucky and Neville, Island, Pennsylvania. In most cases, the driver is out and back.
Driver Requirements:
- Must be 23 years of age
- Must have a Class A CDL with Haz Mat and Tanker endorsements
- Must have a Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC)
- No more than two moving violations within the last three years
- No more than one preventable accident within the last three years
- No DUI or DWI within the last five years
- Eighteen (18) months of verifiable tractor and trailer experience within the last three years
- Pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen
- Must posses a valid DOT Medical Certificate AND Medical Examiner’s Report
- Must pass Pulmonary Function Test
- No facial hair for proper respirator fit
Primary Hiring Areas
- Catlettsburg, Kentucky and Huntington, West Virginia areas (Kenova Terminal)
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area (Neville Island Terminal)
- Houston, Texas area (Galena Park Terminal)
Orientation and Training:
- Two day orientation training of which you are paid a rate of $80.00 per day
- Forty (40) hour Haz WOPER training course of which you are paid a rate of $80.00 per day
- Driver training period of anywhere from four to six weeks with another driver to load and unload the carbon of which you are paid $100 per day
Home Time:
- Most of the time these drivers are home every other night except for trips out to the west coast.
- The majority of the work in Galena Park, Texas is local. However, there will be occasional overnight trips to the Southeast, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
